很多人可能都這樣經驗：制定了完美的時間管理作息表，最後卻沒能完成，感嘆「時間管理」好難。
如果從管理角度看待「時間」，那麼可能從一開始就搞錯方向。
沒有人能夠管理時間，我們真正能管理的只有自己
《把時間當作朋友》作者李笑來說，「沒有人能夠管理時間，我們真正能管理的只有自己。」仔細思考，確實是如此，制定再完美的時間表，最後要執行的人還是自己。一個拖延、突發事件，都能輕易打亂時間表，因為無論發生什麼事，時間還是繼續前進，不會停留半秒。
所以，對於時間，比較好的認知是「與時間做朋友」，而具體的實踐方式是「用正確的的方法做正確的事」。
認清現實、及時行動
關於正確方法，書中從管理、學習、思考等面向提了很多，我覺得最重要的莫過於「認清現實、及時行動」，很多時候會拖延，是因為無法進入狀態，除了人性天生的趨吉避凶心態外，還有常見的錯估任務所需時間，究其根本原因，則在於害怕做錯事，所以乾脆先不要做。
因此，必須要認清「只要做事，就一定會有問題」的現實，保有這樣的心態，當遇到困難時，才能心平氣和解決。最重要的是，要及時採取行動。
重要事情的標準：是否對目標實現有益
那什麼是正確的事？大家心中正確的事不一定相同。著名的時間矩陣，用緊急與重要與否來區分，然而很多人無法分辨何為「真的重要」和「顯得重要」，以及「真的緊急」和「顯得緊急」。作者認為，要判斷一件事是否重要，唯一標準是「是否對目標（無論長期或短期）的實現有益」，而很多我們以為很緊急的事，實際上都沒那麼急迫。
在讀這本書的時候，充分感受到作者想要表達的意思，雖然知道讀書、寫心得很重要，最後還是拖到了還書期限前才把書看完（借書期限的壓力反而促成行動），印證了「沒辦法管理時間，只能管理自己」的道理，及時採取行動就對了！
有趣的是，作者的另一本書《通往財富自由之路》並非著重於財富；而《把時間當作朋友》談論時間的篇幅同樣不算多，更多的是作者對於學習、思考、管理的想法總結。總之，看兩本書能了解作者的思考觀點，還是非常值得。
